Everytown for Gun Safety

Tell Congress: Protect our communities by prioritizing gun safety!

Your Congressional lawmakers were just sworn into office. Now, it's time for them to get to work.

We've made huge progress on gun safety in recent years—but this Congress, we're up against a gun lobby-backed majority.

125 people are killed by guns every day, so we can't afford inaction. Tell your lawmakers you're counting on them to prioritize gun safety:

Dear Lawmaker,

As your constituent, I urge you to prioritize life-saving gun violence prevention legislation and to ensure that critical gun violence prevention agencies and programs are funded in the 119th Congress.

With many challenges facing our nation, I ask that you protect public health and safety from gun violence and oppose any efforts that would weaken our federal gun safety laws, like attempts to repeal core provisions in the landmark Bipartisan Safer Communities Act or undermine the federal agencies—such as the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives—that enforce them.

The data is clear: gun violence is an epidemic in the United States, killing nearly 46,000 people and wounding nearly 100,000 more every single year.

We can all agree that protecting public health and safety is never a partisan issue. That's why a majority of Americans support common-sense gun violence prevention policies like requiring background checks on customers, removing firearms from individuals who are determined to be a danger to themselves or others, and banning assault weapons to keep us, our families, and our communities safe.

I look forward to continuing this discussion with you—because your constituents are counting on you to protect public health and safety from gun violence in the 119th Congress.
