In February we watched in horror as children ran out of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida with their hands above their heads after a person shot and killed 17 students and staff, and injured at least 14 others. In March, we Marched for Our Lives throughout the country demanding change from our lawmakers.
In New Jersey that change is a Red Flag Law. A Red Flag Law would create an "Extreme Risk Protection Order" that could be requested by family members or law enforcement officers, empowering New Jersey to prevent warning signs from turning into tragedies, like the Parkland school shooting.
