We are all too familiar with mass shootings at schools. Just this year, we saw horror unfold at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Florida and Sante Fe High School, Texas.
The reality is that gunfire on school grounds is in fact much more pervasive and in many ways mirrors gun violence in this country. Whether it's a student carrying a gun into school in their backpack or a teacher bringing a loaded weapon into the classroom — the presence of guns in the hands of civilians in our elementary, middle, and high schools make students less safe.
We demand action from our lawmakers to keep students safe from gunfire on school grounds — add your name if you agree that guns do NOT belong in schools.
