A highly controversial "Stand Your Ground" bill in Arkansas failed in a committee vote this March. The bill, SB 484, would make it legal for people to shoot to kill in public, even if there is a clear and safe alternative. Our lawmakers made the right call.
With only days left until the AR legislature adjourns, the NRA and their allies are trying to bypass any opposition to Stand Your Ground with a process called "extraction" to push through this extreme measure at the last minute.
Send an urgent message to your Arkansas State Senator and tell them to REJECT Stand Your Ground bill SB 484 >>
Dear Senator,
As your constituent, I'm very concerned about efforts to advance SB 484, a highly controversial Stand Your Ground bill, even after it failed in a Senate Judiciary Committee vote last month.
I strongly urge you to oppose new efforts to bypass the committee process and pull SB484 from its rightful committee. Stakeholders have voiced their concerns and the committee has spoken. We shouldn’t override our democratic process.
Please oppose efforts to extract SB 484 from its rightful committee.
