Everytown for Gun Safety

Tell North Carolina lawmakers: REJECT this dangerous gun bill

The most extreme voices in the gun lobby are pressuring lawmakers in North Carolina to pass laws that would put our communities' public safety at risk. The one bill they're pushing the hardest would remove the permit requirement for carrying hidden, loaded handguns in public -- allowing people with no safety training and even teenagers to carry concealed handguns in public.

North Carolinians need to speak out if we're going to stop these dangerous gun bills from making our state less safe.

Tell your lawmakers to stand up for public safety. Send a message now to urge them to protect North Carolinians and say no to the gun lobby’s dangerous agenda.

Dear Lawmaker --

As a North Carolina citizen concerned with the safety of my family and my community, I urge you to please stand up for public safety by rejecting permitless carry and voting NO on HB 746. Rejecting this bill will preserve a core public safety law by keeping our concealed handgun permit system intact, ensuring that North Carolinians who choose to carry hidden, loaded handguns in public have safety training.

HB 746 would remove the ability for law enforcement to effectively keep people who pose a threat to public safety from carrying hidden, loaded handguns in places where our families frequent everyday. North Carolina's existing concealed carry permit system respects the Second Amendment while also upholding our culture of responsible gun ownership and protecting North Carolinians.

Efforts to gut the system only make it more difficult for law enforcement to do their jobs, and will make our communities less safe. I respectfully urge you to make the safety of your constituents your top priority by voting NO on HB 746, Permitless Carry.

Sincerely,
