Everytown for Gun Safety

Tell Governor Polis: Sign Police Reform Bill SB20-217!

Colorado lawmakers passed SB20-217 and it's headed to the Governor's desk!

If enacted, this bill would require body-worn cameras for all police officers and for their recordings to be released to the public promptly following any incident. Other provisions include the development of a public database with comprehensive data about all use of force incidents, and requiring all such uses of force to be regularly reported to the Department of Public Safety.

Tell Governor Polis to sign this police reform bill into law >>

Dear Governor Polis,

I'm a Colorado resident writing to urge you to sign SB20-217 into law. The Colorado Legislature recently passed this important legislation to hold police accountable and help reduce police shootings in our state.

Black Americans are shot and killed by police at three times the rate of white Americans. In Colorado, over 200 people were killed by police between 2013 and 2019. This law would be an important step in increasing transparency and ensuring accountability for police misconduct.

Please sign SB20-217 into law.
