South Carolina lawmakers are voting soon on dangerous legislation that would weaken our gun laws and embolden extremists, including bills that would allow the open carry of loaded handguns.
Open carry, which allows for carrying firearms visibly in public, is a dangerous policy exploited by white supremacists and extremists to intimidate their opponents.

Dear Senator,
As your constituent, I urge you to reject HB 3094 and instead focus on protecting public safety and safeguarding our communities.
If passed in its current form, HB 3094 would allow open carry of handguns in places like playgrounds and bars and other places that serve alcohol.
There is no reason that families and children should have to make a split decision about the intentions of someone openly carrying a loaded handgun. Law enforcement opposes this bill because they know it puts public safety at risk.
Please prioritize public safety in South Carolina by rejecting HB 3094.
