Send a Message OPPOSING Armed Teachers in Florida Schools

The Florida Senate will soon vote on a controversial bill to arm Florida's K-12 teachers. The legislation would arm teachers with guns in Florida schools and divert education funds from proven solutions to cover the costs of arming teachers.

Arming teachers puts children, educators, and staff at greater risk of gun violence in our schools, and we urgently need to tell our state representatives and senators to vote NO on this dangerous bill before they take a vote.

Dear Senator,

As your constituent, I'm very concerned that the Senate Appropriations Committee just voted to advance the controversial bill SB 7030, which would expand the Guardian program to arm Florida teachers – and divert education funds to cover the costs to do so.

An overwhelming body of evidence indicates that arming teachers puts children and the school community at a greater risk of gun violence in our schools.

SB 7030 would also impede the response of law enforcement to an active shooter incident. For this reason, law enforcement, educators, students, and parents across Florida oppose this measure.

Please vote NO on SB 7030 and oppose any measures that would arm school teachers.
