Everytown for Gun Safety

Urge Ohio Governor DeWine to VETO permitless carry!

SB 215 would get rid of Ohio's permitting system, allowing anyone to carry a hidden, loaded firearm in public.

There is no reason to gut our state's permitting system. Law enforcement leaders, Moms Demand Action volunteers, and Ohio residents have all voiced opposition to this bill. Governor DeWine should listen to his constituents and veto it.

Send the following message urging Gov. DeWine to VETO permitless carry:

Dear Governor DeWine,

I'm one of your Ohio constituents and I'm urging you to veto permitless carry bill SB 215.

Law enforcement officers, local elected officials, community leaders, and Ohio residents like me have voiced their strong opposition to permitless carry. Gutting our state's permitting system will only put Ohioans in danger. It will make law enforcement's jobs harder—permitless carry laws strip away a critical tool they use to differentiate between responsible gun owners and those who are prohibited from carrying a loaded weapon in public.

We all deserve to feel safe in Ohio. Please listen to your law enforcement agencies, mayors across the state, responsible gun owners, and children and families of Ohio: Veto permitless carry.

After the Dayton shooting in 2019, we urged you to "Do Something" about gun violence and we are urging you now: Veto this bill. Protect Ohioans from gun violence and veto permitless carry.
