After the shooting at Annunciation Church and School, you must support calls for a special session to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
Assault weapons are high-powered semi-automatic weapons that, when equipped with high-capacity magazines, can shoot dozens of rounds and be reloaded with dozens more, all in seconds. They're designed to kill as many people as possible as quickly as possible, and there's no reason they should be in our communities.
Governor Walz can call a special session on public safety, and lawmakers on both sides of the aisle should work together and pass a ban on these dangerous weapons. What are you waiting for?
