In less than 24 hours, 31 people were killed in mass acts of gun violence, and on average 100 Americans will be fatally shot every day. It seems like every day there’s coverage of another shooting on the news. Far too many don’t make headlines.
Americans know this heartbreaking and unacceptable public safety threat isn’t normal and that even if we can’t stop all gun violence with one policy, there are bipartisan, common sense steps we can take that will make a big difference. It is past time for the Senate to take action to prevent gun violence. Send a message to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell demanding he call a vote for gun safety legislation that could save lives. Tell him we need background checks on all gun sales and a strong Red Flag law that would empower family members and law enforcement to stop gun tragedies before they happen.
