Gun makers should design their firearms so that a person can't turn them into DIY machine guns.
But Glock, the multibillion dollar gun manufacturer, refuses. Instead, the company’s pistols can be converted into machine guns with just one simple step—adding a tiny piece of plastic called a Glock switch.
Instead of innovating toward safety, Glock and copycat manufacturers are allowing their guns to become even deadlier. Now it's on California lawmakers to act and prevent tragedies because the gun industry refuses to.
Tell the Assembly Public Safety Committee and your own assemblymember: Ban the sale of dangerous convertible pistols that can be turned into DIY machine guns!
Dear Lawmaker,
I'm urging you to pass AB 1127 to stop DIY machine guns.
DIY machine guns are a growing threat to public safety. Fully automatic machine guns have been illegal under federal and state law for decades, but they can be made at home by attaching a tiny piece of plastic commonly known as a "Glock switch" to a convertible pistol.
AB 1127 will protect Californians from DIY machine guns by banning the sale of any pistol to civilians that easily can be converted into a machine gun by attaching a Glock switch. Passing this bill will force gun manufacturers to fix this problem.
Thank you for listening to my concerns. Please support AB 1127 to keep our communities safe.
