Everytown for Gun Safety

STOP THE VETO OVERRIDE: Oppose Permitless Carry

The North Carolina Legislature recently passed a dangerous permitless carry bill that would let people—including teenagers as young as 18—carry loaded handguns in public without training or a background check.

Thanks to Governor Stein's veto, we have one last chance to stop this bill!

We need to remind our representatives that they should be listening to us, not the gun lobby.

Make your voice heard by sending a message to your North Carolina lawmakers opposing permitless carry >>

Dear Lawmaker,

I am asking you, as a constituent, to reject radical legislation that would weaken our gun safety laws and endanger North Carolinians.

Permitless carry legislation (SB 50) would remove life-saving permitting and training standards for carrying guns in public from state law. This bill would allow people as young as 18 to carry a loaded handgun in public without ANY vetting or safety training.

Please vote to uphold the veto of this dangerous legislation.

Guns are the leading cause of death for children and teens in our state. You should be strengthening our gun safety laws, not gutting them.
