Everytown for Gun Safety

Send a Message to North Carolina Lawmakers Urging Them to Oppose Permitless Carry!

The North Carolina Legislature is about to vote on a dangerous permitless carry bill, which would let people, including teenagers as young as 18, carry loaded handguns without training or a background check.

Our representatives should be listening to us, not the gun lobby.

Make your voice heard, and send a message to your North Carolina lawmakers opposing permitless carry >>

Dear Lawmaker,

I am asking you, as your constituent, to reject legislation that would weaken our gun safety laws and endanger North Carolinians.

Permitless carry legislation (HB 5 and SB 50) would remove necessary permitting and training standards for carrying guns in public from state law. This legislation would allow people as young as 18 to carry a loaded handgun in public without ANY vetting or safety training.

Guns are the leading cause of death for children and teens in our state—you should be strengthening our gun safety laws, not gutting them.

Please prioritize public safety by passing common-sense gun safety bills and rejecting dangerous policies like permitless carry.
