HB 2304 would require kids be taught the NRA's Eddie Eagle GunSafe firearm training program, placing the responsibility of gun safety on children rather than their parents and guardians.

Dear Representative,
I'm one of your constituents, and I'm urging you to vote NO on HB 2304.
HB 2304 would require kids be taught the Eddie Eagle GunSafe firearm training program —doing nothing to keep our children safe. The responsibility of gun safety should fall on the parents and guardians, not children.
There is no evidence to support that these programs will keep our kids safe or reduce the likelihood that they will mishandle firearms in an unsupervised situation. The stakes of this issue can't be overstated.
Too many children's lives are cut short by unintentional shootings every year. But research shows these tragedies are preventable. That's why we should focus on bills like HB 2413 which require secure firearm storage and advocate for common-sense secure storage laws and school board notifications.
Please vote NO on HB 2304.
