Tell the Missouri Legislature and Governor to Stop SB 613
Backed by the gun lobby—and opposed by Missouri families and law enforcement—SB 613 is working its way through the Missouri legislature.
The bill makes it illegal for police officers and prosecutors in Missouri to enforce federal gun laws, including laws that keep guns out the hands of convicted domestic abusers. In fact, under SB 613, a convicted domestic abuser could sue a law enforcement officer for disarming him of his illegally possessed gun.
SB 613 also brings guns into classrooms, interferes with the ability of doctors to maintain medical records, and forces every community in Missouri to allow teenagers to carry loaded fireams, openly and concealed, on their streets—overruling any local public safety laws the people of that municipality may have passed.
