Everytown for Gun Safety

Save Our Veterans' Lives

From 2003 to 2022, more than 87,000 veterans died by gun suicide.

Congress has a duty to end this devastating crisis. One way they can help do just that is by passing the bipartisan Saving Our Veterans Lives Act. This legislation would direct the VA to offer gun lock boxes and secure storage information to veterans upon request.

Providing free gun lock boxes is a simple and meaningful way to reduce firearm-related injuries and deaths.

Veterans have sacrificed for our country—we must support them by passing common-sense legislation to combat veteran suicide.

Send a message today urging your U.S. senators and representative to support the bipartisan Saving Our Veterans Lives Act (H.R. 1987 / S. 926):

Dear Lawmaker,

I'm your constituent, and I'm urging you to support the bipartisan Saving Our Veterans Lives Act (H.R. 1987/S. 926).

The veteran suicide rates in our country are unacceptable. From 2003 to 2022, more than 87,000 veterans died by gun suicide.

H.R. 1987/S. 926 is a common-sense, bipartisan solution that would provide free firearm lockboxes to every veteran who wants one. Secure storage creates time and space between a veteran in crisis and their firearm, which could mean the difference between life and death.

Veterans risked their lives to protect and defend our country, and we have an obligation to provide them with the resources they need to stay safe when they return home.

Please cosponsor the Saving Our Veterans Lives Act (H.R. 1987/S. 926).

Thank you.
