Everytown for Gun Safety

Take Action to Protect Gun Violence Prevention in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania has made important investments in gun violence prevention, like funding for community violence intervention programs and gun violence prevention initiatives. This funding is critical to uplifting evidence-based, community-driven initiatives to address the root causes of gun violence in Pennsylvania.

If we want to continue making strides in this area, we need to ensure our lawmakers prioritize continued funding for these important programs in their 2025-26 budget.

As the White House actively works to dismantle gun violence prevention efforts, Pennsylvania lawmakers need to step up and act to protect our communities from gun violence.

Dear Lawmaker,

I am writing to urge you to prioritize funding gun violence prevention in the state budget this year, including expanding funding to essential programs like the Violence Intervention and Prevention program and the Building Opportunity through Out of School Time (BOOST) Grant Program.

At a time when the Trump-Vance administration has shuttered the national Office of Gun Violence Prevention, has taken an axe to critical community violence prevention programs, and is actively working to undo the progress we've made on gun safety, Pennsylvania must take action to prevent gun violence. Continuing to fund community violence intervention efforts will allow us to continue to make progress on gun safety and help keep Pennsylvanians safe from gun violence.

I hope that you will prioritize making Pennsylvania a leader in gun safety and support funding community-based gun violence prevention efforts this session.
