Join us for a family-friendly Fun Run in Austin for this year's Wear Orange event. Wear Orange Weekend is National Gun Violence Awareness weekend. Show victims and survivors of gun violence your support by wearing as much ORANGE as you can, and get creative! There will be prizes for best dressed! Check in for the Fun Run will begin at 9am at the Amphitheater at Lake Park, near the corner of Aldrich St. & Simond Ave. Run, walk or bike the 1-mile loop around the park - bikes and strollers are welcome! Parts of the loop are a sandy trail that may not be conducive to wheelchairs, but there are sidewalks nearby. Bring your kids and grandkids - they'll enjoy running the loop, seeing the ducks at the lake and playing on the large playscape nearby. Bring a full water bottle, bring your friends & family, wear your running shoes and WEAR ORANGE!!
