Dear Senator,
As your constituent, I am urging you to stand up for the safety of my family and our communities by passing a Red Flag law that will help keep Garden Staters safe.
A Red Flag law that would create an Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO), a court order that family members and law enforcement can request to temporarily restrict a person's access to guns when they pose a significant risk of harming themselves or others. This would empower New Jerseyans to prevent warning signs from turning into tragedies like mass shootings or gun suicides.
Maryland, Vermont, and Florida have all taken action by enacting red flag laws since the tragic Parkland shooting. Please make New Jersey next!
