New Hampshire has a long tradition of responsible gun ownership. We know that with rights come responsibilities.
But New Hampshire State Senator Kevin Avard voted to get rid of common sense public safety laws that block people from carrying hidden, loaded handguns in public -- with no permit required.
State Senator Kevin Avard repeatedly ignored the expertise of law enforcement and the will of New Hampshire voters by voting to gut common sense public safety laws.
Kevin Avard threatened public safety.
- He voted to make it harder for law enforcement to block dangerous people from carrying hidden, loaded weapons in public.
- He voted to allow people to carry loaded, hidden handguns in public with no permit required
- He ignored New Hampshire law enforcement who opposed these measures and said they would undermine public safety.
- He listened to the gun lobby, not us. Even though 73% of New Hampshire residents support the existing concealed carry permit system, and law enforcement opposed dismantling the permit system, he voted to do just that. He listened to the gun lobby instead of us.
State Senator Kevin Avard ignored New Hampshire families and voted for bills that threaten our public safety. On November 8th, we can vote him out.
