Senator Joni Ernst should not cave to the gun lobby. She has said she won't be advancing the House's bipartisan Violence Against Women Act reauthorization bill — which includes life-saving provisions to disarm abusive dating partners and stalkers.

As one of your Iowan constituents, I am disappointed that you are not backing the bipartisan House version of the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act.
Refusing to advance VAWA with provisions to disarm abusive dating partners and stalkers leaves countless women at risk. We need strong gun safety measures at the federal level to reduce violence against American women, and these provisions would help us keep guns away from domestic abusers. We need a version of VAWA that includes these life-saving provisions.
Siding with the gun lobby's agenda when survivors' lives are at risk is unacceptable. I hope we can count on you to consider your constituents and our voices as you make legislative decisions on behalf of all Iowans and the nation.
