Wear Orange Party for Peace on June 2
When Bronzeville's Hadiya Pendleton was murdered in 2013 just a week after marching in President Obama's 2nd inaugural parade, her high school classmates refused to let her die in vain. They asked people to commemorate Hadiya -- and the thousands claimed by gun violence every year -- by wearing orange, a color that symbolizes the value of human life.
On June 2, Chicago will go orange to honor all those whose lives have been stolen or changed forever -- and inspire action to end gun violence. Join us for a community event in Harold Washington Park.
