Everytown for Gun Safety

Tell Gov. Newsom: Fully Fund Violence Intervention & Prevention!

The California Violence Intervention and Prevention (CalVIP) Grant Program funds local, community-based programs that are proven to reduce shootings and save lives.

It's critical that we fully fund CalVIP at $114 million in this year's budget.

Send a message urging Governor Newsom to fully invest in CalVIP >>

Dear Governor Newsom,

As a California resident, I urge you to fully invest in the California Violence Intervention and Prevention (CalVIP) Grant Program, at $114 million in this year's budget

California's communities suffered a 30% increase in gun deaths after the onset of the pandemic—and violence remains the leading cause of death for young Black men and boys.

In order to curb the drastic increase in violence, please invest in CalVIP at $114 million in this year's budget. Thank you.
