Petition to Pass Extreme Risk Protection Orders

There's a new bill in the state legislature that would give Washington families and law enforcement the ability to ask a judge to temporarily remove guns from someone who poses an extreme risk to themselves or others. It's up to us to make sure our lawmakers move this bill forward, without delay.

Current Washington law often leaves family members and law enforcement with no options to intervene in these cases.

Extreme RIsk Protection Orders allow family members and law enforcement to take action to save lives when someone is at extreme risk for committing violence against themselves or others.

Intervention at these critical moments will prevent future tragedies while protecting individual rights, allowing for family members to make a specific, temporary intervention at critical moments by providing sworn evidence to a judge.

There's no single solution to stopping gun violence, but responsible policies like Extreme Risk Protection Orders could save lives and prevent tragedies.
