Everytown for Gun Safety

Tell KS Governor Kelly to VETO this bad gun bill!

The Kansas legislature just passed HB 2058 and now it's on the Governor's desk.

HB 2058 would allow people with permits from other states—including teenagers, certain convicted stalkers, and people who may have never fired a gun—to carry hidden, loaded handguns in our state even if they'd be ineligible for a Kansas permit.

Dear Governor Kelly,

I'm a Kansas resident and I'm urging you to veto HB 2058.

HB 2058 is a dangerous gun bill that would dramatically weaken the laws governing carrying concealed handguns in Kansas. It would automatically allow people with permits from other states—including untrained people and those with dangerous histories—to carry hidden, loaded handguns in Kansas communities, even if they would be ineligible for Kansas permits. This bill would also make it harder to keep guns out of the hands of violent criminals.

It would also allow 18-,19-, and 20-year-olds to obtain permits to carry concealed handguns in public, including carrying inside school zones and on college campuses. This undermines common-sense laws that keep our communities safe.

Please prioritize the public safety of the people you serve and veto HB 2058.
