Tell Cabela's: No completed background check, no gun sale
We learned last week that the Charleston shooter was able to purchase a gun even though he did not pass a background check.
Most background checks are completed within a few minutes, but in rare cases where the check takes longer than three days, federal law lets retailers decide whether to proceed with the sale.
Retailers have the right -- and responsibility -- to delay a gun sale until a background check is completed. But Cabela's, one of the largest gun retailers in the country, will sell to anyone after three business days have passed, even if their background check is incomplete.
Sign the petition to Cabela's asking them to sell guns only after a completed background check.
