Attend Wear Orange 2020

RSVP for a Wear Orange event, and help make this year's national gun violence awareness day the biggest yet.

VA-Palmyra-Virtual Wear Orange Rally

2020 Virtual Event
TBA
Palmyra, VA 22963
When: Saturday, May 30, 12:00 AM

Orange is the color that Hadiya Pendleton’s friends wore in her honor when she was shot and killed in Chicago at the age of 15 — in 2013. Since then orange has been the defining color of the gun violence prevention movement. While prioritizing staying home and staying safe this year we are encouraging our volunteers to stand in solidarity and raise awareness by wearing orange as they support local charitable organizations in some way from May 30 through June 27. Grab a selfie and post it on social media with the hashtag #WearOrange! Another wonderful option is to participate with our local Students Demand Action group for Wear Orange Rocks! They will be decorating orange painted rocks with messages of solidarity, uplifting artwork, and wishes for safety in our community. These rocks will then find places to be displayed throughout our community! We will be posting our creations across social media as well.
