RSVP for a Wear Orange event, and help make this year's national gun violence awareness day the biggest yet.
TX-Central Houston-Wear Orange Honor and Remember Victims and Survivors
Please join the Central Houston Moms Demand Action chapter in honoring those lost to gun violence and those who have survived. During this event, we will hear from survivors and put a name to each life lost in Houston in 2019, and prior years. RSVP for information on how to join the event. Orange is the color that Hadiya Pendleton’s friends wore in her honor when she was shot and killed in Chicago at the age of 15. After her death, they asked us to stand up, speak out, and Wear Orange to raise awareness about gun violence. Even during these unpredictable times, we can still raise awareness. There are countless ways you can support Wear Orange on June 5-June 7 - visit the Orange Ribbon Memorial Tree Grove in Houston, TX; wear orange; decorate your front door, yard, or house orange; paint a Wear Orange rock; or create Wear Orange sidewalk chalk. Share online with the hashtag #WearOrange and let’s turn the internet ORANGE!
