Now that they've got their chosen candidate in the White House, the NRA is raring to go with their extremist agenda. Their number one priority? Pushing a dangerous law that would force all 50 states to allow violent criminals, domestic abusers, and even convicted stalkers to carry hidden, loaded guns in public.
The NRA calls it concealed carry reciprocity to try to make it seem innocuous and harmless -- but it's actually an extremely dangerous law that would put public safety at risk.
For years, the NRA has been going state by state, chipping away at the most basic permitting standards for carrying concealed guns in public. In some cases, they've eliminated safety training entirely. And in many states, people convicted of violent crimes can legally carry guns in public, alongside domestic abusers and convicted stalkers. Many states now even allow teenagers to carry guns due to the gun lobby's pressure.
The NRA won't be satisfied until anyone -- even dangerous people -- can carry a gun anywhere. Concealed carry reciprocity would completely undermine your state's ability to have common-sense standards for who should be able to carry a loaded gun in public, and undermine your community's public safety.
