On Oct. 1, 2017, a shooter attacked a large crowd attending a country music concert in Las Vegas. By using several AR-type rifles with attached bump stock accessories, the shooter was able to effectively convert his rifles into machine guns. He fired over one thousand rounds of ammunition in minutes, killing 58 people and injuring hundreds more.

Now, the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is asking for the public to weigh in on a proposed rule clarifying federal law and regulating bump stocks — a rule that would make clear that these devices are illegal. The ATF has asked for your view on whether there is a benefit to the proposed rule. We need you to visit the Regulations.Gov comment page and let the federal agency know that it's critical to put this rule in place – and finally regulate these dangerous firearm accessories.
